GROUPS:
Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) Consultation Group:
- Do you incorporate animal-assisted therapy into your profession?
- Would you like to incorporate animal-assisted therapy approaches
into your work with clients/patients/students?
- Would you like to network and consult with others in this field?
This Group is specifically for professionals (therapists, social workers, counselors, teachers, etc.) who are either incorporating Animal Assisted Interventions into their work, or who wish to do so. The Group is a supportive place to share experiences, brainstorm and discuss approaches, and "staff" cases. This is an open and free group, which meets every 2nd Wednesday of the month, at Delta Society Headquarters.
For more information, to attend and/or become a member of the AAT Consultation group, please contact Rachel Wright.
Youth Pet Partners Group:
This group is specifically for teenagers who are either current Delta Society Pet Partners, or who are interested in learning more about becoming a Pet Partner. The goal is to help teenagers prepare for the Team Evaluation in order to become a registered Pet Partner. We will help prepare teens to gain the skills necessary in order to volunteer with their animal at local facilities. Teens are given the experience of a 'mock evaluation' to give them an idea if their animal is suitable to this work. Group is facilitated by Brianne Ryan (teen Pet Partner). Rachel Wright co-facilitates by providing (when applicable) demonstrations and mock evaluations OR Pet Partners Team Evaluations. Brianne and Rachel welcome and encourage new members!
Group meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month, at Delta Society Headquarters. The next group will be held on 9/18/07, from 7-8pm at Delta Society Headquarters.
For more information, please contact Rachel Wright.
